Surrey Christian Secondary is offers an Electronics and Robotics course. The course started with electronics using Arduinos and breadboards. Students made a number of different circuits and learned how to program sensors (temperature, light, buttons, etc.) in order to control output actuators (LED’s, motors, speakers, etc.).
Students are now moving on to the robotics portion of the course using VEX robot kits. They started off by building their robots and then competing in a game of robot soccer. We are now moving on to programming our robots to work autonomously.
Students have been extremely engaged and are finding it a fun way to learn new skills and prepare for the future at the same time.
