And we’re off!
Four students and two staff members are going for three weeks to Sierra Leonne! This group will be working with Kabala Christian School, as well as other small new village schools that SCS supports. They will also be spending three days in Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone, to learn more about the country’s history and stories. They are so excited to learn, listen and build on the relationships with the people and students of Sierra Leone!
The 2023 Honduras team will be travelling the country coast-to-coast on this 18-day trip! The first half of the trip will be spent at our sister school, Calvino Christian School. The team will be observing, learning, carrying out tasks, helping where needed, and interacting with staff and students. During the second half, the team will be exploring the country learning about social systems, health care, indigenous groups, and even classical music! The team will be exposed to a variety of experiences such as a shrimp farm, an agricultural high school, an organization that works against corruption, an organization that works with people who live and work in the dump, a maternal hospital, the Mayan ruins, and more.
