This year we are delighted to introduce the Modern Band program to our young musicians in grade 4 – 7. Modern Band was created by Little Kids Rock, an organization that transforms lives by restoring, expanding, and innovating music education in schools across the USA. This summer Mrs. Locken and Mrs. Mahon completed their Modern Band training and are the first teachers on the West coast of Canada to be certified Modern Band instructors.
Modern Band teaches kids to perform, improvise and compose using the popular styles that they know and love including rock, pop, reggae, hip hop, R&B and other modern styles. We strongly believe that our young musicians will flourish as they explore music through a storyline which is rooted in a deep hope.
Modern Band classes feature guitar, ukulele, bass, keyboard, drums, vocals, technology, and computers.
