Grade 8 Day | February 11

Friday, February 11. This is a day for Grade 7 students to learn about high school life at Surrey Christian School! This year the event will be held virtually. Students will play ice-breaker games, go on a virtual tour with principal Danny Nagtegaal, meet the academic counsellor, and learn about electives and course opportunities.

Things to know

• Our beautiful Secondary Campus offers a wonderful, rich experience for students in grades 8–12. We have a strong athletic program that offers competitive play and character building; a robust music program offering jazz band, vocal jazz and rock band; weekly chapels; art and sculpting classes; drama and media arts. Plus academic sciences, AP math, language arts, socials, bible, Spanish and French – so many courses and electives to choose from. Course handbook.
• Extra-curricular activities include debate club, mainstage theatre production, motor club, book club and drop-in ping pong club to name a few.
• We offer student support services such as Crew, academic counselling, personal counselling and learning support.
• Grade 8 students will go on a class trip to RockRidge Canyon for 3 days in the spring.

Parent Information Session
On Tuesday, Feb. 15 there will be a virtual parent information session at 7:00 pm. It’s a great introduction for parents with their first child entering Grade 8 at Surrey Christian School.
