At Surrey Christian School, we believe that our purpose is to educate for wholeness. What does this mean for your child?
We deeply care for our learners and support them to be “whole” by focusing on their overall well-being – mind, body and spirit. Surrey Christian School is very intentional in designing curriculum and offering rich programs to help our students flourish and connect to God’s story by helping them discover their passion.
In this high-tech, social media age, our children are bombarded with messages that seek to shape who they are and who they will become. At every turn, they are exposed to images and text that contain subtle and not-so-subtle ideas about what it means to be fulfilled or successful in the world today. In light of this, a primary mission for Surrey Christian is to help students replace these powerful messages with a narrative rooted in the reality of God’s Word and His everlasting love for them.
By educating for wholeness, our students are invited to explore and develop their passions and prepare them for the journey ahead, far beyond their time at Surrey Christian School.
Surrey Christian School offers strong extracurricular programs for learners to explore what interests and energizes them. For example, we offer exciting after-school music programs at the elementary and secondary campuses. As well, there is an array of athletics program offered to our students at different age groups, including track & field, volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, ultimate, swimming, and more. At the high school level, we offer such diverse options as leadership, drama, ceramics, robotics, woodworking, foods, mechanic, media design, technology, career education, outdoor education, photography, and more.
Surrey Christian high school students have the opportunity to apply for intercultural learning trips that can inform their understanding and appreciation of the world around them. These rich experiences allow our students to gain tremendous insights about their own skills and interests while expanding their perspective on how big God’s world truly is. Last year, some of our students visited places as diverse as Sierra Leone, Honduras, London, New York, and Korea. Our Grade 7, 8 and 12 students each had whole-grade retreats to grow in community and connect together. We also offer our students the opportunity to be part of the Language Partners Club to welcome, connect and learn with the many international students at our school.
By educating for wholeness, our students are invited to explore and develop their passions and prepare them for the journey ahead, far beyond their time at Surrey Christian School.
