Haylee joined Surrey Christian School as a Grade 1 teacher in 2020. She was drawn to a school that lives out its mission and vision. Emphasizing the things that bring us together and exploring differences is at Haylee’s heart, which is her deep hope for SCS: for us to be united in the diversity God has interwoven throughout creation.
Studying elementary education, she’s taught Grades 1 through 7 in public and independent schools. Her M.A. degree was through Regent College, where she studied the intersection of leadership, theology, and society. Her hope is for students to live out their faith daily.
Outside of school, she loves cooking, crafting, and long-distance running. With family spread across the globe, Haylee enjoys travelling. She has a special place in her heart for Zambia, where her husband is from, and enjoys travelling back as often as possible.
Haylee is our Director of Spiritual Formation at Surrey Christian School, and she’s all about creating a warm and lively spiritual atmosphere for everyone in the school community. She’s here to support our chapel programs, coordinate the PreK-12 Bible curriculum, and seeks to support the pastoral care of students and staff. Haylee also works closely with teachers, parents, and local churches to promote spiritual transformation, making sure it’s a natural part of school life while building meaningful connections along the way.
