Victoria has been an Early Years Educator since 2002, holding a variety of roles during her profession. Some of those roles have included operating her own Licensed Group Child Care Facility and most recently prior to SCS, as an Early Childhood Education College Instructor and the Head of Operations at a Reggio Preschool Society in Vancouver.
With many years of experience and thorough knowledge of the multiple theories of how children learn and grow, Victoria is passionate about learning that emerges from within the child. In Victoria’s eyes, God created children as capable learners who construct their own knowledge through curiosity, investigation, persistence and a natural desire to engage with a stimulating and collaborative environment. Making a child’s learning come alive visually through observation and documentation is an exciting privilege Victoria does not take for granted and one she longs to share with the families at SCS. She looks forward to bringing this passion to Surrey Christian School’s Early Years Campuses and walking alongside children and parents as they collaboratively engage in the early learning process and observe childhood learning and passion come alive.
Victoria resides in Surrey, with her husband and five teenage children; who have all walked the halls of Surrey Christian School. When outside of the classroom, (and when she’s not busy as a Hockey mom), you may find her engaging in some of her favourite personal pastimes such as singing, composing poetry, impromptu dates with her husband and, when time allows, getting lost in a good book or a binge worthy TV series.
